Congratulations to the following Crusaders Junior Athletes on their 2018 Canada Selections!
This summer Taylour Hurd was named to Canada’s U20 Roster for the Tri Nations Series against the USA and England.
Taylor Black recently played in the Youth Olympics in Argentina and subsequently received her first Senior Cap for Canada against Wales!
Lizzie Gibson joined Taylor on the Youth Olympic Team.
Well done Lizzie, Taylor and Taylour, what a bright future in the sport!
U19 Athlete EJ Rerri has been named to the Canada Team participating in the World Schools Sevens Tournament in Auckland. The Tournament Dates are: December 14-15th. If we get broadcast details, we’ll pass them along! Congratulations also to Canada Head Coach, Nigel D’Acre, who assisted our U15 Sevens players this fall. EJ is returning to the Canada side which last year also included Cru players Jack Shaw and Kaleb Delaney.
The Crusaders had 6 boys evaluated for Canada U18 and 5 were named to the team. Congratulations go to: David Scollon, Nick Harrington, Liam Bowman, Sean Snyman and Deklan Williamson on their selection! This team travels to San Diego after Christmas to take on the Americans.
Finally, former Crusaders Juniors Adrian Wadden (Extended Squad), Djustice Sears-Duru, Jamie MacKenzie, Andrew Ferguson and Oakville native Matt Tierney (Mississauga Blues/Pau,France) helped our Senior Men’s Team qualify for the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan. Canada will play in a pool with NZ, South Africa, Namibia and Italy. Congratulations guys and look forward to seeing you around the club next summer!
