As a Crusader member from the early 1970’s Dave was a regular and reliable player, pulling on the gold jersey at all levels of the club.  He would gladly play where ever needed and was an enthusiastic tourist – Montreal, Windsor and various  US destinations.  Dave played well into the 1990’s and enjoyed both the physical and social aspects of rugby.   In the 2000’s and 2010’s Dave was a regular attendee at home matches, always accompanied by his dog.

Born in Trinidad, Dave was a well respected photographer, avid fisherman and family man.

Helen and Dave were strong club supporters, attending and contributing to various club functions and events.  In the early days, Dave’s influence with Mayor Ann Mulvale helped secure our present home on the Ninth Line.

The DeVerteuil family are planning a celebration of Dave’s life – details will be posted.

A great opportunity to learn about rugby!
